Hi,

I use to have a set of Federals on my BMW 318tds Compact a number of years ago. The guy at the garage had fitted them during service as the originals were getting pretty close to the wear bands. I remember being really pissed off about it at the time. I thought they were a bit of a sub standard tyre considering I had Pirelli's on before. Anyway, I was pleasently surprised how good they were. Good grip in the dry as well as the wet. Don't know what they'd be like on a 944 though.

Cheers, Ben :bounce:

I had a set of SS595s (I think) which came with a set of wheels - I wasn't that keen however when I ran them for a thousand miles or so, I was pleasantly surprised!! Having said that, they were all dry miles, I can't vouch for them in the wet!!

Only comment I can make about Federals is how noisy they are not bad in the dry bit weird in the wet but road noise from memory was excessive cheap though.

Stuffed a pair of "Tiger" tyres on the 944 when it was my daily driver, whilst waiting to sort the geometry out. Expected them to be pants & surprisingly they weren't. They wore better than the GSD3 F1 that I'd been running & lasted out until I could get it sorted.
