Hi All,

recently bought a 1990 gpw s2, and loving it even in these harsh weather conditions  . need your valuable help on a few things though. firstly i want to know what kind of options i have in terms of a speaker upgrade. has anyone put good components into standard fittings maintaining the original look. and secondly does anyone know of where i could source some marine blue porsche logo cloth for my seats, as my drivers seats has developed a nasty hole in the side bolster. i have been told by Dave at Southbound that porsche no longer manufactures this cloth., therefore i think i'm looking at trying to find another seat trimmed in this cloth.

cheers lads,

Andrew

Hello and welcome

The only music I have in my car is the sound of the flat 6 hitting 6,000

HI & Welcome

Seats will be a breakers or search on Flea bay, if southbound don't have it.

Speakers, standard is crappy paper cone 6 x 4 & plenty of better ones around although the backs are a fiddle, as techincally the window has to come out, although can be done with care. Bigger speakers are possible in the back, I've heard of 6-7" round units being fitted.

I've got kenwoog hq 6x4s in the back an got a 6x speaker door card kit off another club member that allows you to put a 5.5" and a 4" in the door pocket and a tweeter behind the wing mirrors. I got this head unit off fleabay for £170 http://www.justkenwood.co.uk/stock01/kdc_w7541u.asp
I'm still looking for a small sub like a Rockford Fosgate 8" that will fit in the tiny boot.. The head unit is full ipod controll so i can plug it into a cable i ran into the glove box.

You have a point there.. I never used the hi-fi on my 911.. sweet sound of the flat six was music enough.. With a Cab you need a pretty loud hifi to hear it at 80 down the motorway with the roof open..
