Could anyone tell me if there should be a spring on this throttle pedal and if so how is it attached to the pedal .
You can see the hole to locate one end of spring but not sure about other end . Porsche Pet shows a spring for this style of pedal but not how it is attached and I cant remember if there should be one or if its just the two springs on the turbo throttle body that returns the pedal .
No definite results after google search.
Thanks simon

Hi Simon,
On my car there's what looks like quite a strong spring, fitted between the hole in the bracket and a spring attachment point, below it on the throttle pedal. It looks like your throttle pedal has that spring attachment above the bracket hole, rather than below it, like mine. Hope this helps.

I can only find this picture which shows a 90 degree leg for spring attachment . This what you are talking about Paul .
Its for the 924 turbo so maybe different set up .

That's it, or something similar. Didn't twig the top of the pedal is where the cable attaches. You could weld something on your pedal to attach the spring.

£10 for a pedal post on its way . It would cost me more than that in welding wire and look bloody awful .

 You're not shy about spending the pennies are you. When's the flappy paddle gearbox being fitted.

Who needs flappy pedals , a few years ago (35 maybe) I was at a car show and some gentleman there had rigged up a switch with an electrical motor on top of the gear stick to activate the clutch pedal . Brilliant ! So 007 DB5 .
I believe early Group b Quattro's did something similar on some of the early works cars to enable you to left foot brake and change gear although you wouldn't want your toes in the wrong place as the clutch pedal went to the floor with some force.

I think the M3 SMG was a manual gearbox, with solenoids and electrickery to do the shifting. Performance bikes have full throttle clutchless upshifts, and clutchless downshifts now. But I expect it's easier to engineer onto a sequential gearbox.
