Watched clarksons new DVD Thriller on saturday. In search of the most thrilling cars he buy buys a 944T and sings the praises of the car, claiming it's got the best 'bang for the buck' before attaching 'rocket launchers' to the doors and using it to blow up speed cameras/traffic cops/a bus!

check out youtube for the clip minus the review of the car (if you can call it that)

So, are we about to find a load of new people in the market thinking about selling their expensive performance car in favour of a clarkson-approved, depreciation-proof, recessioncrunch-busting 951?

ps, happy new year and all that! (been away)

The car that Clarkson used for the DVD was given away by The Sun and then appeared on fleabay a couple of weeks ago. Owner wanted something like £4500 starting price
Don't know what it went for though :!:

I watched the self-same vid last night. Felt like I was watching all the bits that were rejected from Top Gear ;)

But really good to see the 944 getting praised.

ha, it's hard to handle that much clarkson. the vid did have it's moments though...

i especially liked the way he describes the alpha 8c's gearbox

i see the car sold for £5,200 on ebay first time round but the winner didn't cough up.

Gone right off Clarkson and co, getting really childish. 5th Gear going same way but I LUUUUUURRRRVVVVE my Turbo :love4: . Had her 3 mths now and just getting used to her quirks and niggles but the wow factor is wonderful. Kids love the school run now. Recommend anyone get a 944 now. My Golf GT170 has lost £10k in 2 half years, and it's only got 12k miles on the clock! says it all. Classic car insurance, still get all of Tesco's shopping bags in back, sorted.

Hi. I saw the car at the MPH08 show in November at the NEC. I didn't realise at the time it had featured in Clarkson's Thriller. It was only when I was showing the lads at work some pics from the MPH show that someone told me it had featured in Thriller - he even managed to find the relevant bit on his laptop for me to watch. I was stunned by how complimentary Jezza was about the Turbo.

Anyway, the car at the MPH show looked a little worse for wear. It has as someone pointed out earlier a big 'The Sun' logo on the bonnet, plus there was a pretty big ding in the bonnet with paint missing - I guess that may have been battle damage from when they were filming the bit with the rockets.

Enjoy the attached pics. Ben :bounce:

I was threatened with the vid for Xmas & said no thanks. I've the Clarkson books here, bought as a pressie for me for Xmas 07 & they're unread! I can only stand so much Clarkson & that is too much

I missed all the fun.. and will now be looking for said DVD/ program just to see wassup.

Clarkson can be muted.. or overdubbed with your favourite music, adjust volume to your taste.... I even saw Adrian Chiles turn him off on the his prog the other night when the Hamster boy was on it, why are the Top Gear boys all turning in to dishevelled tramps ?

BBC trying to look cool? At least 5th Gear does some informative safety test's and more everyday cars the real general public will be buying aswell as some glam stuff, V B H could make a return though :bounce:. Just watched last night' episode, had BMW 1 series, Seat Ibiza, getting discounts on new motors and a bit of Lambo supercar for good measure. No pointless road trips across USA or Vietnam on a moped and no cars blown up. They even have a champion for classic cars reporting the subject instead of claiming it like the Hamster but never actually seeing him do report anything about it.

Hi,

Just been reading the thread. I quite like Clarkson. I find his attitude quite refreshing. There should be more people like him. I like the way he feels he can speak his mind and stuff the consequences.

On another note, VBH is a very sassy girl. I met her at BMW Pit Lane Park at the Trafford Centre in July. She was very warm and had a lot of time to speak to people even though she was working. She must be one of the most ideal women without a doubt. See pic below.

Cheers, Ben :bounce:
