Hi Guys

Solenoid seems to be away on mine.

Does anybody have a decent starter lying about they could sell?

Bit confused looking at PET. There are 2 starters, both 951 part numbers listed. One is 1.4KW and other is 1.7KW listed as M198. What is M198?

Does any 944 starter do the job? Would I be just as easy getting mine reconditioned?

Cheers

Stuart

Get it refurbished, any second hand one will be the same age and just as worn
The 1.7 is for the S2, but will fit both cars

Should be able to get it fixed in a day or two, and genuine is close to a mortgage new

Thanks Martin.

I have taken a plunge on a reconditioned Bosch 1.7KW unit from a German company. £93 plus £13 delivery, send my old one back once it's off. Seems very reasonable, return post included.

Cheers

Lol! No worries. I've got 2 relative bargains I think for a new pump and a re-con starter.

The German company still hasn't mailed the starter. If it's not in the post by the start of next week I may take you up on the starter Simon, need it for the end of next week at the latest.

Thanks for you help as ever you two!

Get it rebuilt here, should be the same sort of money, but a hell of a lot easier if you have any dramas

I rebuild 968 starters as they are extremely expensive and there are no exchange units to be had

Hi Conor

Here it is:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/192816512833

Cost me £11 odds to send old unit back using EVRI. But do weigh up the pros and cons of having your own one refurbed in the UK. I see its actually £14 cheaper now!
