Am I correct in thinking the Air Flow Meter for a 944S is vehicle specific, ie the 2.5/7 8V and S2 ones will not fit? The circuit board in mine is looking very worn where the 2 contacts connect with the conducting strip.

Read the info on Clarks garage. Tells you how to adjust the arm to run on a different track. The DME has to match the AFM. Bad contacts can be resoldered. But I wouldnt worry what it looks like. So long as it works! The article describes how to test it with a meter & a battery. :)

they do turn up on the bay now and then for about £100, but at 20 years old possibly carrying the same faults as you already have

Thanks, I have already tried the Clarks Garage modification, but was considering a replacement unit if I could locate one cheap enough. Just dont want to get the wrong one ! :)

To be pedantic Jon Mitchell & I think it's around the £150 mark, discounted from my local Bosch specialists they are around £200ish.
A new 'un makes a huge difference to the way the car drives & your fuel consumption!

If it's only £150 I think I should have one. Not much point re-maping if the calibrations out on the AFM! So thats exchange then? Do I have to wait for my own to be done or does he keep a stock? :D

How do you get discount from ECP?

Every time I ask I still finish up paying full price!
