Hi, apologies if this has been asked before, but need to get a clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder for my 1989 944 S2.

Checked PET for master cylinder number (477721171 for the 1989 model year), but there seem to be several potential parts that fit on the ebay/google searches.

e.g. there are about 5 different Valeo cylinder numbers which supposedly fit the S2, some will be for the 1990/91 models, different OEN.

However some also state OEN 478 721 171 as being appropriate?

Just wanted to check if I need to be careful about LHD parts showing up as compatible for my S2 since I need RHD parts, but I'm not sure if the clutch slave cylinders or clutch master cylinders are specific/different for RHD as opposed to LHD.

I wouldn't have thought they were, but as there seem to be a number of replacement options available from the same cylinder manufacturer, just wanted to check before ordering the wrong parts.

Nice helpful chap from Nottingham Porsche has helped solve the problem, there is a different clutch master cylinder for LHD and RHD cars.

Clutch Master Cylinder for 1989 S2 for LHD drive cars is 477 721 171, for RHD cars it's 478 721 171.

Part numbers for S2 for 1990 model year and on cars is different.

Have ordered 478 721 171 and will see if it fits.
