Hi Ive stripped my S2 engine for some large scale engine refreshing and my machine shop have managed to get 9 of the 10 studs out the last one has stripped and is just turning in its housing without withdrawing he's tried using a puller on it but no luck. I think he'd like to drill it out but the spinning stud may prevent this approach. Anyone encountered this or have any ideas on what to do next to get this stud out? Thanks Steve |

If some stud is protruding you can weld a nut on it, if it's recessed then spark erosion. Looks like the threads have stripped so it will need a helicoil or similar. |

What stud you don’t mention where, if it’s a head stud then I think the block will be toast |

When I removed the head studs from a 2.7 block all but one came out fairly easily. The last one needed some heat, and even then it took about an hour of quarter turns backwards and forwards to get it out. I don't know if a machine shop would have taken the same time. |

As already mentioned , will need at least helicoil or similar or could drill and tap for larger head studs (including cylinder head) if they could be sourced . |
