Finished fitting a Sony double din Apple CarPlay replacing both the old radio (a cheap modern unit) and the cubby below.
I was just going to replace the radio with a better one but the co owner of the car, my son, persuaded me this Sony unit would fit and it was his preference even tho it was to be my birthday present. The Sony XAV-AX1000 which was £279 from Halfords fits really well. The reversing camera was a present to (I think about £30) and fits just above the rear number plate. Took a bit of work by me as he can’t come back at the moment because of Covid and I couldn’t wait for him to do it.
I know it won’t be to everyone’s taste, upgrading to a very modern type of unit but I’m extremely pleased with the fit and look. Will be good just to have Google maps sat nav on a bigger screen and in the proper location for a sat nav. Plus the reversing camera.
