When engine braking, just started to feel a light juddering that seems related to engine/transmission. Other than that, engine really smooth in drive or at idle.

Any suggestions what this could be?

My research suggests it could be the transmission mount.

Any help as to how to check if the mount has failed?

Engine mounts could also cause this issue. Common problem on 944s, how close is the exhaust manifold to the steering UJ

This could be as well. But, what I've read is that failing engine mounts cause other vibrations, especially at idle. Apart from the mentioned, the car/engine really runs sweet.

It is quite close to the shaft/rod going down to rack but not close to UJ.

Well, although not sure if they are the culprit, but they are most probably over 30 years old, will order engine mounts in the New Year. While I'm at it, will do the transmission mount as well.

All in delivered €344 According to Rosepassion, transmission mount original part, which is €197 on it's own :-o

Will check on engine mounts.

Any suggestions?

I bought my engine mounts for my 1986 N/A in June this year (2020) direct from Porsche £168.15 Incl vat each. I collected tho. They were £155.69 each less 10% plus vat.

The Porsche part was made by Corteco, you cannot buy them direct from them only through Porsche

The closest comparison is the Meyle after market ones

If you measure your mount from the bolt landing to the mount face the should not be less than 68mm
