So of course our odometer stopped working at the weekend (both), the reset one and actual car mileage. (I didn't push reset whilst moving forward!). I have watched all the videos and read Clarke's Garage on the replacement of the white cog that often fails in the unit. Pretty sure I can do the repair. My 944 is 1989 2.7, but I am guessing the dashboard could have been made anytime. Am I right in thinking there are a number of cog variants (as suggested on the Clarke's site)? Or is their one type for UK market? Wanted to order it before I started the repair. Thank you. |

When I was visiting Zimms in the USA they had remanufactured these & supplied them to other companies. They are a great bunch worth ordering direct https://www.allzim.com/index.html |

Thanks Jim. Took it all apart, found the cog on ebay, fitted and back in. Works great. The only tip is give all the numbers a clean with some light alcohol, the white I mile cog was very dirty. Good as new now! |

Not sure I would have done that, the next prospective buyer might think it’s been clocked Only a thought |
