Hi All,
I am new to the Porsche 944 world and also new to this forum!
The power steering rack on my 1986 944 is leaking and I am in the process of trying to rebuild it.
I am at the stage of replacing the seals on the rack shuttle thingie (please excuse the terminology) and there is an O ring with a PTFE back up ring.
The back up ring has a split in it, but I'm not sure if it's meant to be this way or it has failed.
Please can anyone advise if this is how the back up ring should be or if it's failed and needs replacing.
