Hi All

As recommission work progresses on my 944 turbo I want to swap out the ghastly JVC stereo and cd changer installed by the previous owner.

I’m looking to put something in that has Bluetooth streaming but has a retro look. Not bothered about sat Nav as I use my phone for that anyway.

Porsche classic stereo out of the question due to cost.

Becker Grand Prix 767 seems a good option

I originally was going for the Blaupunkt Bremen but bizarrely it doesn’t offer Bluetooth streaming.

What are people using ?

People have been pleased with these and Tore is a great bloke to deal with.
My favorite for the 944 is the Becker Indianaplois Pro, for looks, but no built in bluetooth I have a seperate dongle type thing in the glove box. 993 has a Becker Cascade with hacked software in the built in satnav for fixed speed cameras.

I’m hoping someone will realise this would be a great Father’s Day present.

A tad expensive but will really look the part.

Whilst I agree with some of this I think a lot depends on where you're starting from. My Cayenne has PCM which is double DIN size. It is truly dire despite having been updated to the latest version. This is why I am looking to go for a modern double DIN unit. It'll probably be an android unit. It will also give me reversing camera, decent Bluetooth & NAV.
In the 944 & the Box I had a succession of units, all single DIN. Bluetooth was the main requirement, Nav would have been nice but a Tom Tom on the screen took care of that. These days I use Waze on the phone in a screen holder.

I'd always thought that the "pro" versions of the Becker HU had a bluetooth connection?
I have a non pro Indianapolis in my 944, red screen to match the car. I'm a great fan of Becker stuff and seemed to have collected various ones. I just need a car to put my cascade in!

the Bremen does do audio from bluetooth it supports these bluetooth profiles

HFP, PBAP, A2DP, SPP, AVRCP

A2DP is the audio streaming profile

You get the phone link but no audio files. I use a Tune2Air which connects to Iphone.

Thanks for the input chaps.

I have to correct my initial post in that the Bremen does indeed do audio streaming.

Some of the initial Reviews specifically said it did not which was incorrect. These have been picked up by other lazy reviewers such as Maxim and repeated

I found a YouTube review which although not the last word in professionalism gave a good run thru of features and positives and negatives

I think I’ll end up going for the Blaupunkt Bremen. As is usual on the web big variances in price do shop around.
