Post subject:  Will Bilstein conversion collars for S2 fit a 91 turbo strut
Hi

I’m getting all the bits together to do a Bilstein conversion on my 1991 Turbo

Sport wagon.de in Germany have a set of collars but said they were for a S2 and could not confirm they would fit a Turbo strut (non m030)

I thought the struts had the same dimensions but now I’m not sure.

Can anyone confirm that the struts share the sane dimensions before I order them

Yes they are the same, late turbo, S2, 968

you should have a word with 51rider, he has them made and does a fitting service, on a fully exchange basis,

I'm sure he would sort you out regardless of what you need, from just supplying collars to a fully built ready to install set,

I know he has a set already converted, just need the inserts fitted and ready to go,

he will do mine for me when I'm ready, already got B6 on the rear, so 51rider will take mine and cut them, weld them, powder coat them fit the inserts and springs for me, and I will just fit them back on, what a easy way to do this

I wish 51rider was around when I did my old S2. I got a local engineering shop to do the cutting and welding after buying the sleeves from spotwagen. It wasn't a great hassle, but having a one stop shop would have been far easier, plus you'd have some confidence that having done it before, they should know what they're doing.

I forget the details, but there's one particular nut that needs torquing to the right value, once the springs are fitted, but you can't directly fit a torque wrench to. If that's fitted for you as part of the deal, I'd take it.

That’s the big Nut that holds the insert in, 51rider has the special tool to do that correctly

I know he will build the struts up completely springs and top mounts if you send them to him,

I have visited his lovely clean workshop more than once
