Noticed recently that the current set of Falkens are coming up to 10yrs old. Still plenty of tread but the rears have been spinning up more often. I'm having some 968 wheels refurbed ( Cup narrows) so I thought I would treat them to a new set of Michelin Exaltos. I like Michelins and always used them on the 993. Anyone used them? Prices vary widely but Blackcircles seem the best bet. Don't like Bridgestones or Contis and the Pirellis don't review well although the Sotto Zeros are excellent. |

Not used those, but I just put a set of Nero GT on the 968, so far I’m quite pleased with them, certainly smooth and quiet Think they came to £320 with fitting including TPMS sensors |

I went through a few when I had a 944 & settled on Goodyears. Uniroyal Rainsports are very popular on MX5s, a lot rating them as close to Michelin Pilot Sports. |

I checked all the usual online places recently when I bought 4 Michelin N rated PS2's. Formula One Autocentres were the cheapest fitted by some margin. Michelin did a cash promo too. Surprisingly the tyres were around £200 a set cheaper than the same tyres around 6 years ago. I made sure they were all manufactured this year as well. |

Just to add some information in case anyone reads this in future, I noticed Pirelli are now making tyres in the 944 Turbo sizes with the Porsche N5 rating (not wanting to start a debate on N-rated or non N-rated however!) Looks like Continental have stopped supplying 16" N-rated tyres possibly in the last year as I'm sure they were available when I last checked. So I may have to get a pair of Pirelli's for the front before my next MOT (advisory on edge wear last MOT) |

I don't think there was much difference in price for N and non N rated Michelins in the sizes I wanted. I believe PS2's are produced in more than one compound, and I wanted to ensure all 4 tyres were the same. I've used Pirelli Roso Corsas on my bikes for years, but I'm not a great fan of Pirellis on 4 wheels. |

Just did some more searching specifically on the 245/45R16 and 225/50R16 for the 944 Turbo and found that for a full set of four tyres there is only one brand / model that appears to be available now - the Pirelli P Zero N5... Just been out and checked my front Conti's and found that I remember one tyre had an non-repairable puncture and was replaced so on one side I have a 10 year old tyre with about 3mm tread and the other side is a 6 year old tyre with about 7mm tread. So I'm either getting 2 x Pirelli P Zero or changing wheels..... great... Michelin and Conti appear to have stopped making these sizes |

All the best Brett ![]() Hi Brett - only front size available in Falken, I'm OCD with tyres and would like to have the same make / model on front / rear. The only tyre available in both sizes on blackcircles is the Pirelli |
