Post subject: | Help with Series 2 944 parts please |
Hello, I haven't been active on the forum, just keeping my head down on my 1986 944, have been on & off the project for 10 years and finally nearing the MOT. Whilst waiting for the number plates to arrive I've had a play with the car and noticed a couple of parts that are needed, can anybody help please? I'm after: 1 wiper arm cap (the one that covers the nut which secures the arm to the wheelbox) 1 passenger side elec window switch (if different to the driveers side) Have looked for a for sale/wanted section. I'm in Birmingham & can collect or if post is preferred, I can use PayPal Thanks in advance, Paul. |

The wiper but covers are the same as a golf 2, also available from your local Porsche dealer parts dept, they are not expensive Window switches, usually available from euro car parts, plenty on the bay of fleas new and used The URO patterned ones are quite nice, they have a good solid feel to them, and I believe they are all the same I can have a look in my spares bin, I might have an old one you can have |

Thank-you for your reply. I tried to order a wiper arm cap but was told the dreaded NLA. The one I do have has a 944 prefix part number moulded inside. This cap is often confused with the round one from a series 1 car, mine are different with a flat side. Thanks for the info on the switch, will buy a new one. If anybody has a cap, I’d be happy to buy one, will try & attach some pics. Thanks again and looking forward to attending a club evening. Paul.

Car parts for less do an H-Tech window switch for about a tenner. Looks and works spot on. Not as clunky as an original but a softer less clicky experience. The main thing is it works and looks 100% correct. Stuart |
