I've fitted the rears but examining the fronts there is no provision for the air deflectors or ABS/Pad sensor terminals any tips? |

ABS sensor can be cable tied - 2 around the strut then one either side of the sensor at 90deg to the strut. As for the air deflector...? |

Yeah the air deflectors are a no go but you can recycle the original bracket for the ABS and brake wear sensors which is what I did. I double nutted the top shock bolt to hold the bracket. Cable ties not required! (Unless the black plastic cylinder's retaining clip is past its best) Stuart |

Thanks for the tips. I've got 968 deflectors on as well on so there will be some cooling. I've set the rears at 6 from full soft which seems ok atmo, a lot easier to adjust than the Konis. The fronts will run 300lb springs, currently 250 on the Koni coil-overs. Car had felt too stiff at the rear and a bit too soft at the front with a tendency to oversteer so I'll see how the change feels. Running Lyndsey M030 arbs set full soft at rear so I can firm that up a bit if needed. I wish the 993 handled like a 944 you never know when it's going to bite you. |

There is masses of adjustment on the Gaz stuff. I have my rears at 16, my rears have about 44 clicks. My fronts are at 8, they have about 22 clicks. This is about 36% of full stiff which I find pretty neutral and compliant for fast road. My fronts lasted about 8 years (40k miles or so) before I had them rebuilt, the rears are still going strong 9 years on and close to 50k miles. Good value for money plus the rebuild service was only £50 a corner. I had 300lb springs but opted for 275lb when I done the refresh. Only downside is the car needs re-indexed before any of it fits. No worries Simon. The fronts are a lot better after the rebuild but not perfect with some corrosion still visible. The main thing is they work properly again! I'll google that stuff...... Edit to add I've had tins of corrosion block for a while and did use regularly. It did not stop the nickel finish deteriorating very much. Unless it may have been 10 times worse without it.......... ![]() Stuart |
