Hi all, hoping you knowledgeable people can help, does anyone have a diagram of the parking brake parts as my handbrake has always been terrible but I’ve had the drivers seat out today and had a look at the parking brake and noticed a spring unattached, looks broken too but can anyone confirm if there’s a spring that should be there?

I’ve taken a picture so I’ll try and add it.

Thanks all!

Hi Harry - the spring should be hooked on to the metal frame sitting just above it.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. Do you know it the bottom of the spring on the other side needs to hook on anywhere else? Can't tell if it's broken or just supposed to hook onto one side. Thanks again

Hmmm - I think it hooks onto the hole in the tube to the right of your picture. It should be providing tension on the cable, I will check mine when I next go into the garage over the weekend.

If it snapped and lost one of its hooks, they are still available from OPC

Thanks for the info, really appreciate it, I’ll get one ordered or see if there’s anything in the spare parts bin in the garage that I can make work :)

I have seen boxes of new assorted springs on eBay for a few quid
