Post subject:  Replacement front and rear brake disc covers

Hey all,

Does anybody know where I could get replacement front and rear brake disc covers plates?

All 4 on mine are badly rusted and need to be replaced and I'm finding it hard to get them.

Any help would be great, thanks!

They are available from Porsche and if you have a later car the rears are aluminium and are £100 each

The fronts not so bad at about £30 each

Your only decent option is new from Porsche as Martin says. I bought a front one for my turbo in 2017 for £13.20 plus vat. Turbo are sided at front IIRC, not sure about the NA cars. That seems a bit of a price increase and downright silly for the rear ones.

What price are turbo fronts now Martin, they have a 951 part number?

Cheers

the rear stone guard plates are 964 352 801 01 @ £122.18 each
the front turbo plates are £17.71 each

standard ones are 944 351 085 01 @ £46.49 each

Bargain £320 for some stone guards

Thanks. Crazy money as you say. I could do with a new NS front one, I think I'll order one while they are still £17.

Ordered. Glasgow OPC with discount, £13.20 plus vat, same as I paid 2 years ago for the other side.

My back ones have seen better days but they are still hanging together, can't get over that price, nonsense!

Stuart,

I tracked down the company that made them, a metal pressings company in Dusseldorf, they went out of business in the crash 2010.

so what Porsche have left is all you will get, unless Porsche classic saved the press moulds

Thanks Martin. Interesting info. Would be good if someone with the know how could knock up a mould or a press and do a run on them. I'm sure almost everyone in the fold would snap up a rear pair for reasonable money.

Thanks guys!

I ended up getting all 4 from a salvage yard in Los Angeles including shipping for 160 inc.vat, well chuffed :)

Well done

Parts from the sunny state are normally in pretty good condition

Have you got them yet

If not then be prepared for a customs and duty and post office handling fee, sometimes it’s reasonable sometimes it’s dam painful,

As another member on here found out,

Ordering from the USA parts that were available from his local OPC

£16 from here, from the USA plus all the duty £76 for exactly the same thing

yeah, need to do the research first but can work well. I got a FPR from the states for £99 all-in (Bosch made in Germany genuine part) OPC wanted £268 for the exact same thing WTF?
