Post subject:  Is their more than one size of rear shock?

Hey all!

As I continue with the restoration of my 944 now that the summer is done, I have run into a problem...

I purchased a set of Sachs rear shocks to replace my 1987 shocks on my car but when the guys at the garage tried to fit they noticed that the bottom eyelet was too large.

The part I ordered was https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre ... 3193728940

Now from what I've seen there's only one size, or am I missing something?

Thanks

Mark

The early cars (pre 85.5) had different rear shocks to the later (post 85.5) cars. I seem to recall that the lower mounting bush in the shock has a smaller diamter on the early cars. The replacement B6 shocks are green for the early cars and yellow for the later ones. The shocks for the early cars were a lot cheaper when I was looking a couple of years ago.
