I think you're right Prophead. Studying them & it seems the other part number doesn't have the brake cooling shield either

I have found a set of used front struts off a 994S to fit B6s; will these fit my January 1989 S2? Part numbers of 944S struts: 944.343.031.17 944.343.032.17 According to my parts list & if understood correctly, mine should have the same part number except last 2 digits as so: 944.343.031.19 944.343.032.19 |

I don't think they will. The 944s had the earlier wider springs than yours, so the Spring cups will be to big. |

I don’t have the part numbers but what I do have is a set of freshly powder coated (satin black) S2 struts that are already adapted for the B6 insert. They are available on an exchange basis. I’ll even build them back up again if you have the inserts sent to me as I have the special Bilstein tool to tighten the collar to the correct torque, thus making it a plug & play operation.
