So the button on full ignition raises and lowers the sunroof, fantastic. BUT

As I understand it, I need to put the ignition on radio(1st position) then push the roof button, to release the actuators so I can release the hinges and life the roof out!!! So the button does nothing on position 1, no actuator noise, no nothing. I can release the hinges but of course can't life the roof out.

Any clues would be appreciated. Thank you.

you tried the button both directions, it could be the micro switch in the centre contact front of roof

is the owners manual missing from your car?

Hi, thanks. I do have the small manual in the glove box, which told me about how the roof works but it doesn't mention the micro switches. I'll check the micro switch...thank you :D

I don't often take the roof out, but as Waylander says, I think you need to press the button as if you are opening the roof and then the arms will retract and you can then push the back of the roof up to check they are clear. As you correctly say, this is all done in ignition position 1. Then you can undo the clips at the front and lift the roof out. Don't drop it.

Good luck.

Thank you, heading home on train to try again this evening. Fingers crossed. (Promise not to drop it!) :D
