Just thought I'd mention this, it may help someone out of a muddle. Bought a parts car recently. It has nice wheels on it, but came with locking wheel nuts (the bain of my life) and no key. They weren't the aluminium Porsche ones (I can deal with those easily), but McGard ones, which were a very snug fit down the recesses in the wheels, and made of hardened steel, making them very difficult to shift without damaging the wheel, stud or both. I contacted McGard in Germany, explained the situation, and they were happy to identify the code from a photograph of the nut, and after seeing the V5 and some ID, supply 2 new keys for 30 Euro. Ordered on a Friday and arrived the following Tuesday. I thought this was excellent customer service, and saved me a lot of hassle. Well done McGard. |

Impressive service, I dumped the ones on my 944 after one sheared trying to change a slow puncture. Yorkshire to kent doing 30-40 miles & stopping to pump it back up was very painful. Got home & old draper socket held in water pump pliers & a club hammer & knuckle bar & it was off. |
