Post subject:  Looking for a Particular 944 in Kent, Reg: TIJ 9441 Anyone?
Hi, It's a long shot but I am trying to track down a previous owner of my '84 944, someone who owned the car in the 90's for almost a decade and put a whopping 86K on the clock and a lot of love into it, I am wondering if he is a member on here?

I know nothing more than his name is 'Ray Cheal' and that he currently has an '86 944 with Reg TIJ 9441 and lives in Kent. (I found this from a google search that came up with a car rally in Folkestone that his name was registered with).

The Reg number I believe he possibly has now is TIJ 9441, although this may be completely wrong. Anyone know his whereabouts?

I'd like to connect with him and let him take his old car for a spin for old times sake, the service history he kept was exhaustive and I am very grateful.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. :)

Its certainly not 'reasonable cause' but you could always try the DVLA and request info about a previous owner? I'm sure in these days of GDRP its unlikely but worth a try.

It was prior to GDPR but I've been able to get full ownership history for a couple of my cars before now so you may still be able to do so.

There is a form you fill in with your details and send off with payment (£5 I think) and some proof of ID and about a month later you get back the details which was copies of old V5 documents.

My 944 was previously TIJ131 and run by someone in Kent for 20 years adding over 100k miles to it.

You also might want to try the local TIPEC Facebook & Porsche groups, he may be a member of those or someone else may know the car

Thanks folks, Sadly the V888 Form from DVLA doesn't seem to allow for previous owner information anymore since mid 2018 and the whole GDPR thing. I know this because I had a 6 year ownership gap from 89-95 on my 1989 944 Turbo that I was trying to find out more about recently. I shall hold out hope that the previous owner sees my post one day or someone that knows him spots it. Thanks for the advice.
