Some of you will know of my recent repaint. After a month the (new) beading (Porsche call it piping) is adrift from the rear of the wheel arch up to the corner above the LH light cluster. Can I somehow push the beading flange back into the gap, maybe with a sliver of glue or windscreen sealant, or is it essential to drop the rear PU? I'll push the bodyshop to do this, but I suspect they may not be too clear on it anyway so I may have to resort to doing it myself ![]() Tim. p.s. the new paint actually looks very good ![]() |

Tim No glue or sealant Remove the fixings and let the pu hang down a wee bit The bead has been pulled too tight, it needs fitting correctly Make sure the groove it sits in is clean clear and grease free Start in the middle and work outwards insert it back in its groove with no pulling or stretching Hopefully the body shop has not cut it short of you will need a new one Fitted correctly they will not move for 10-15 years |

Seems fixed now ![]() Took it back to the bodyshop, who dropped the PU as per Waylander's note, and it all seems OK now. We'll see what another few years bring... Thanks for the advice, Tim. |
