Cab going back together, but it won't turn over. Starter motor off, plugs out and a bar on the pulley. No movement. So I'm going to have to take the head of, may as well do a cam belt and chain replacement at the same time. But does any one have pics of how to reset the cams a And crankshaft. Thanks |

A bit, this is supposed to take us to LeMans classic in 2 months! Removed head. Engine still solid!! So I've got to whip the engine out of my track car project and drop it into the cab, and rebuild the cab as it's just came back from the spray shop, where it's spent the last year. Busy evening's this week I think. |

can you see any corrosion in the bores as the block is alloy, and the pistons, so not sure what could be rusted up. I would be tempted to stick it in gear and get a couple of mates over and rock it back and forth see what pops free |

Bores are good. Tried lifting engine out but sump fouled crossmember. So tried removing gear box but couldn't turn shaft to get at Allen bolt on joining sleeve between box and prop shaft. Rebolted bell housing and slave cylinder so could work clutch. What a nightmare! Gearbox and tube and engine now out of cabriolet. Yesterday I drove the S2 on to the drive. Same again. Box, tube, engine all out. 12 hours work. Today and tomorrow. Refit good engine with new clutch and all back together. Lots of pictures on Facebook. Can't load them on to here as to big. Good engine now in cab. Just putting the vacuum pipes back on the engine, but as I removed everything from both cars, I have one little issue. I have a small vacuum valve that seems to flow in one direction only. I think it was on a Y piece on the front lower part of the inlet plenum chamber. Is it on the pipe to the pressure damper on the front of the injector rail? The only diagram I can find is on rennlist but it shows nothing! Thanks |
