My 944 has movement in the driver door. It appears that the movement is in the hinge pins. Does anyone know if hinge pin kits are available for a 944 (F reg, 1989) and if so where from?

Hi Chris,

It may be a silly question, but have you tried the OPC at Silverlink?
If anyone makes repair kit, I would expect Porsche to and the prices may be more reasonable than you might think.

The part number for the hinge pins for a 968, which should be the same as a 944, are 321 831 421. Hope this helps.

All 924,944 and 968 models use the same hinge pin. Around ten dolars in the states,so you should be able to get one from your dealer.

Many thanks to all who replied. Spoke to Mike today at Porsche Newcastle - really helpful. On way to getting fix, I think.

I tried posting a photo of my car, and I can't figure it out. Original filesize way too big, so tried reducing the size and cropping the original. Altho some detail had gone and the cropping looked a bit odd, it was below max size. When I uploaded it and 'previewed' it the image was huge .... about all I could see on screen without scrollong was the front wing!!! Clearly doing something wrong. Any advice?

Also what are the check boxes for (Disable BBCode? Do not automatically parse URL??) on the posta reply page? ('Notify me when a reply is posted' I did understand'!!!)

Automatically parsing URLs

phpBB3 will automatically parse urls if you have the option to "Do not automatically parse URLs" unchecked, they are parsed if they confine to the following forms:

http://....com
http://www....com
note that the "www" is required in the second example

its not the pin that wears out its the hinge block which has a TUFNOL sleeve, get one from a breakers, the lower one does,nt wear as much. :D

Haven't heard this before, if there's a bush surely Porsche would sell it ?.

That part number looks like one for a Mk1 Golf. I wonder how much they are from VW?

Sounds like it's the hinge, assuming it's the part that bolts to the frame.

I have a pair of door hinge pins to fit and wonder if anyone can tell me the easiest way to fit them :roll:
