Hi all, noticed this weekend that my OP goes up to 5 immediately on starting and even when warm and idling barely drops much. If I switch off the engine and then turn the ignition back on straight away (without starting), I can see the OP falling gradually over the next few seconds. This suggests the sender is working but seems to be reporting higher than usual? The sender was new (but non OEM) about 2 yrs ago. Any thoughts? |

Could be bad connection. If the connection is open then the gauge goes to 5 & stays there. |

As above check and clean connections. The best sender units to use are the VDO ones (they did all the gauges for these cars) Demon Tweaks have them. Worst case is your oil pressure relief valve is sticking. |

Thanks guys, maybe I should replace it with an OPC sender rather than the aftermarket one - I seem to recall they were aroiund £80! |
