i have had trouble with these a few times, thought it was fixed untill today. Went to meet Sean and the gang at cafe to go to PCGB, had brekkie, went to start it and it blew a fuse (25 amp!) and the relay didn't work. Tried tapping relay to make it work but no luck, so called RAC. They did some tests to confirm relay and relapced the blown fuse, but no relays the on van, so the engineer made a "get you home bodge" (temporary repair as they call it). He used two lengths of wire, a male and female spade terminal crimped on each piece and a 20 amp blade type fuse. The male ends went in terminals 30 and 87 to give a live feed to the pump. The fuse went in the female terminals on the wires. I think the blown fuse and non-working relay may be down to the relay sticking? Is it a common fault for relays to malfunction or just bad luck? Don't know if this would be of any use to somone, or common knowledge, but I thought I ought to let people know (with a prod from Sean) just in case. |

Very common way of getting stranded in a 924. I now carry spare relays in the glove box, they are getting old and do fail. Chris |
