Hi Guys, Well I never intended sorting my aircon out until I removed my front bumper to fix the headlight washers, the condenser was completely rotten, so I though whilst I'm here I'll remove & replace, ordered a replacement condenser from ECP Hella, both the old & new don't match up. The new condenser has two connections for the air con pipes at the bottom, my old one has one connection at the bottom/ One at the top, so having spoken to aircon specialists they seem to think that a non genuine replacement has been fitted in the past, the problem I have is that the cooling fan cannot be attached to the new condenser, due to no holes being present to screw into unlike the old one.. Do I just delete the system purely for cost purposes.... What to do??????? |

Further to my last post, can anyone confirm if there is a fan that sits in front of the air con rad ie - two separate fans, one for the rad/ one for the air con radiator.. Ta |

No I don’t think there is When the air con button is pushed it switches the main cooling fans on, so no I don’t think there is Plus there is no third fan shown in PET the parts system |

Waylander, thanks for your input, so what is the standard fit, just one fan for both the coolant & air con rad?? |

Think air con cars had two fans, but I’m not an expert on 944’s |

Air con cars have twin fans that run on high and low speed depending on engine temp and if air con on or off. |

Well the saga continues, I've again checked with Porsche concerning the air con radiator, there was no upgrade on the condenser design........ Where my has come from who knows... I only have a single fan on my radiator & a single on my condenser.. Just spoke with a breakers yard in the states, who star that I should have a twin fan assembly Any further advice guys, or do you think I should just delete the system for the hassle it's causing? Thanks |

Sounds like it’s been retro fitted |

If you want to bin it I'm sure there would be plenty of takers or you could source the correct parts from a breaker (but good luck with that) My S2 has the wiring loom for a/c but would need an a/c ccu plus pump ,pulleys etc. |
