Im thinking of switching over to a standalone ECU on my 83 944.

To get the best performance the use of a wideband O2 sensor is recomended.

Now i dont think my car has one but the porsche manuals show two versions of the downpipe which looks like an o2 sensor came standard on models with a Cat.

Can someone confirm my logic? Im guessing i could modify a stadard downpipe to fit a boss or just get hold of a down pipe for a cat car?

Any decent custom exhaust shop can weld in the boss for an o2 sensor into your existing exhaust.

If what you are asking is "did catalytic converter equipped 944s come with an O2 sensor" then the answer is "Yes".
