Post subject:  968 automatic gear box problem
hi , i have a 1992 968 with automatic gear box with tipotronic select. the tipotronic work perfect but the automatic gear box will not change out of 2nd gear at all. i have change the gear box oil and filter and the variable valve box but still no luck at all , i think its electronic problem ... apparantly porsche had produced microfish film and plug to diagnosis these problem .. can any one help or nay bright idea :P :P .. please regards from christy chou

Would help to know where you live. My suggestion with all auto box problems is to go to a autobox specialist. Ask around some of the local garages they'll recommend some one. It sounds to me like a solenoid issue. What state was the fluid in when it was changed? If it was gritty or smelt burnt then it could be a clutch or band breaking up.
