Hello,

Just bought a 1981 924 from Ebay! Not seen it yet (only photos) its very very tatty no MOT or tax and needs a lot of bodywork done if it were to be returned to decent condition. Picking it up on Thursday night.

Anyway the plan is to strip this and fit a roll cage and do some trackdays in it.

So if anyone needs any bits I shall start stripping the interior and trim out in the next couple of weeks. I know the front seat are split badly but some of it might be salvageable and useful to someone? Cheap too!

Let me know if you are interested in any parts and I will get back to you with their condition etc.

Thanks

Neil

We will see! Goto find the time to get it prepped and the cage sorted before the spring!

Taken weeks to find a suitable car!

Meanwhile the 911 is in bits in the garage! Oh what fun! LOL

An Update!

Well today I fitted new brake pads to the front, keeping the discs, had to clean them up with a wire brush but they are above min thickness with no cracks or anything. The old pads were rusted into the calipers to took a little persuasion to get them out but now the brakes arent seized on and work ok.

Then spent an hour working out why the thing would not run right. Ended up having to reset the sensor plate in the k-jetronic fuel distributor. Then reset the CO, timing and away she went. Little noisy up the top (but I dont know what a good one sounds like). No smoke and good oil pressure when hot. The a cooling fan comes in when required so no problems there.

Tomorrow is on to the rear brakes and the wiring, goto get the wipers etc working!

Is anyone reading/interested in this? :-)

Yes, we are as sad as you   but be careful as Tony will have you doing it in detail in All Torque :) My pad warning light has just come on so will be investigating when I get back from Paris, in fact French computor keyboards, instead of QWERTY you have AZERTY and loads of buttons wrong
