As nice as that is I have my own project
Tin top shell from a lux which is completely stripped & bare shelled at the moment and in primer as of this weekend
Nut and bolt rebuilt with everything refurbished plated and painted.
Coilovers & brakes to be upgraded and now I have a 3.0 16v
rebuild and fit.
This car is a restomod for me to keep and I wanted to build it rather than buy it
although I appreciate it'll owe me a lot of time and money once built!
Fair enough - makes it easier to start with a bare shell in some ways anyway.. Sounds like a great project.
8v na gearboxes are pretty cheap, so even if you do break one it's not the end of the world. Lower ratios as well so handy I think.
Early boxes had 2 mounts, one on each side. Later boxes just had one at the top.
In the limited experience of cars I've owned & driven, S2 gearboxes are quieter.
Std ECU or aftermarket? 16V ECU's have a different connector, S2 engine loom will be useful. 1
6V engine uses a remote oil cooler rather than just a water /oil heat exchanger on the 8V. This mounts on the os front, down by the power steering fluid cooling pipes.
I have some 16V exhaust manifolds if you need them, may have a few other ancillary bits off my old engine.
