Trying find out what stereo my 83 944 might of had as standard.

I thought the options codes might help but the sticker only lists 3. C73, E76 and 666 which dont really look to mean anything.

Anyone kbow of the original info surrounding the model?

Just through searching im assuming a blaupunkt koln sqr22?

Radio options on PET list.

The sticker lists the options ordered for the build of the car.

C is the country
E is an interior colour option
666 is without lacquer

Stereos were fitted by AFN/PCGB - nothing to do with options or build codes. Im aware of the exceptions but theyre not relevant here.

Ok. So stick with me im new.

The options codes have no influence on stereo type.

Refering to the above list it looks like the koln would of veen supplied with my 83 car.

I assume the 'atlanta' version would of been supplied to the US market?

The option codes on the sticker are the options that were chosen for the build of the car.

The stereos would still have been chosen but were not fitted by the factory and not on the build sticker. So you can fit any of the ICE that was available at the time and still keep the car authentic.

With few exceptions, UK cars had Panasonic or National Panasonic stereos fitted.
