| Post subject: | Thoughts on 'cheap' ebay adjustable camber plates? |
The front suspension is due an overhaul so I've been looking at my options and came across these adjustable top mounts on eBay for around £100 posted from the US. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Porsche-924-9 ... 0962337576 Price makes me suspicious but the rest looks ok to my untrained eye... I'm thinking they may be worth a punt... Any thoughts or experience with them? Cheers

Those are the ones I originally went searching for after seeing them in DeLuxe's thread, good to hear they haven't died though! There's quite a difference in vertical offset between the two types... but the adjustable plates on Design911 etc are flat rather than raised. |

I don't know how by being sandblasted gives extra rigidity. Sandblasting just smooths the material for finishing. Odd, but it is American and they have just voted in Trumpety Trump. They'll be saying Mickey Mouse isn't real next! |

The cheaper of the 2 sets will definitely increase your ride hight. |

I've had the offset version without the horizontal ring on my car for a few years now. No issues. No corrosion. It will transmit more noise into the chassis |

Talking to a friend who works in vehicle dynamics they should give a more predictable and sharper steering response, but do have a big effect on ride and NVH. It would seem they spend an awful lot of time tuning them! My current top mounts don't seem great, but OEM replacements are on the pricey side, which got me looking at these. I quite like the car being comfortable for road trips. Sharper responses are tempting, but on mine I think there are worse offenders than the top mounts! Are the vertical offset ones compatible with the standard springs? I can't quite picture how the concave washer that seats the top of the spring would fit... Blimey, you are just down the road! There is another 944 in the village. Coupe in red and there used to be a 968 until last year. I'm next to the old school, so say hi if I'm out tinkering on the car if you're passssing. |

Yep, seen the red coupe a few times, but always when I'm in the Mazda... I'm rarely through Ettington way but I'll keep an eye out I'm just embarking on building a warm dry garage, it's fighting with the 944 over my wallet!

We moved here 5 years ago from Straftford, but no garage. The car was under a really good quality cover, but it suffered badly. I built my garage a just two years ago, then got the car bodywork sorted. It makes such a difference being inside! |

Nothing beats being able to wander out and tinker in the warm & dry. Just build it as big as you can get away with. |
