This is probably a dumb question, but how do you get these out to look inside the metalwork/sill area? Don't want to break bits on someone else's pride and joy or prise off with a screwdriver if there a tried/trusted and less potentially damaging way of getting these out. cheers |

You could try a plastic wedge which is what's normally used for these. Some use a small screwdriver. |

At the top inside there is a little lever type flap that is the release tab |
