Post subject:  Boxster seats in 944S2?

Does anybody know if year 2000 model Boxster seats will fit in a 1991 S2?

Ebay item number 270305428261 - When I asked, the owner said the car has done less than 30000 miles, and buy it now would be £400. If they will fit then I'll start to bid for them soon. It's clear that £200 was the reserve price.

Thank you.

I was told that 944/968/964/993 seats will all fit easily.
With newer seats 986/996 I suppose all the runners would have to come out in which case I imagine anything could be made to fit.
I have had differing opinions regarding 928 - yes and no!

996 and 986 are not a direct fit. If you want a more modern seat the 993 one look very modern and should bolt strait in. They do however tend to fetch a lot of money, it would probably wok out cheaper to get your current seats tidied up.

Thank you for your replies. My understanding is 'anything up to 1998', so 993 is the last. I was just checking to make sure I hadn't missed anything. I've just had a look at my neighbours 2003 Boxster seats and can see the difference in the mounting rails - totally different and wouldn't want to try to make them fit.

Whilst doing my research I found this on a German website - http://www.orlando-car-fashion.de/index ... ge0009.htm - don't worry if you don't speak German - there are lots of photos showing how to strip the seats, replace bits, and rebuild them. Quite interesting.

This afternoon I am going to a vehicle trimmers to see if he can manufacture new insides, and will update the thread later.
