 Post subject: Scrappage scheme and 944 values

According to an article on Hagerty Insurance news letter, 52 Porsche 944s were scrapped under the Brown governments scrappage scheme. If I remember correctly, to qualify a car had the be driven to the dealers, meaning it was roadworthy and had an MOT. These were not someones never to be finished restorations. What a waste! On the other hand that's 52 less to go on the market and must improve the value of those remaining.

i think they are parked at an airfield just north of bedford with 100's of other classic cars that will cost more to scrap than money saved by the government!!!
But what annoys me is old cars are actually greener than modern cars! not as much plastic and nasty chemicals, last 30 years plus, where-as a modern plastic car is only designed to last 5ish years and parts travel all over the globe before assembly.
Don't get me started on electric cars.
