Other than drilling has any one got any stud extraction techniques. It's snapped below the chassis so no way of grabbing the bolt at all. Thanks Adam |

I'd be tempted to try a left handed drill and see what happens. |

Thanks I'll give that a go, assume they are the cone shaped bits with a reverse thread? |

It's been ages since I have changed castor mounts on a 944 so I can't really remember. However, I think he had grooves in the threads. It will take care to drill the nut out seeing as they are probably toughened but hopefully you should be OK. Just try not to snap the drill into it and I would personally progressively drill the bolt out with cobalt/carbide bits. Whatever you do don't use a stud extractor. If that snaps in the bolts you will be in serious trouble. |

Thanks for the advise, I have found a set of cobalt left handed drill bits, Ill give that a go and hope for the best! |

make sure you go slow with the drill and lots of cooling. patience is key. |

Finally got round to the problem, reverse drill worked a treat! Thanks for all the advice! |
