I wonder if someone can help with a particularly peculiar problem!

I have a 1986 944 2.5 lux (oval dash).

Went out for a blast last week and the blower fan for the inside of the car stopped working. When I got back home I also noticed the wipers no longer work and the front fogs don't either and nor does the side mirror adjusters! They all worked a few weeks ago with no trouble and I haven't made any changes to the car which could cause these issues.

I've checked the fuses (5, 14, 17, 18) and swapped out a couple of relays (G1, G2) - no joy.

I've had the fan resistor out from the blower unit under the bonnet - looks clean.

If I press the air recirc button or the windscreen demist I can here the flaps inside moving so I assume it has power.

Headlights, side lights, indicators etc all work fine as does the radio - car starts no issues and runs fine.

Absolutely stumped - anyone got any pointers as to where to go next to diagnose whats caused this please????

Check your ignition switch once car is started, 'wiggle' the key in the switch, a little amount ant i-clockwise.... the key switch wears overtime from the weight of the key ring if there are a few keys on the ring. Mine does exactly the same! No wipers, indicators, heater, radio, lights etc.... try it! I must get round to replacing mine..... but always just rotate the key back a fraction after starting the car now, out of habit.

You're on the right lines there!!

After some messing about we narrowed it down to the ignition relay! Took it apart, put it back in the fuse box without the housing and manually made the connection - everything came back to life!

The relay is part number 928 615 111 01 for reference.
