Both are fine. Out of the two I prefer HEL. Their fittings are generally in Stainless more, and the fittings spin completely on the ends, making them easy to fit and align

Seen a few on ebay mainly Hel and groodridge. Has anyone used them as they are pretty cheap compared to even eurocarparts? |

I've had the same set of Goodridge hoses fitted to my car for over 15 years now, never had a problem and a far better feel to the pedal....I guess I should put a new set on at some stage. If they were original rubber hoses I'd probably have had to replace them 3 times by now. Pete |

To be fair I have not had a problem with Goodridge hoses and they have always lasted in their application from what I have seen compared to rubber hoses. However, I did find the HEL hoses easier to fit and make the hose not catch anything thanks to their fittings. |

There was plenty of scare stories around when I bought my Goodridge hoses too, ignore them, they are from people who have fitted them wrongly. I had used Goodridge for many years on fast Ford's and had never had a problem with them, I saw no reason for them to be any different for Porsche's and such has been the case. Pete |

If it is of an consolation I have had more issues with aftermarket brake hoses than I ever have with braided hoses. A hose end literally splitting at the crimp anyone? OK, I did do 40,000 miles in a year but still! So far I've not had one failure with a braided hose. The only issues I have had is come MOT time where they can catch the wheel due to how they were fitted, hence my suggestion of the HEL lines. Goodridge hoses can be fitted well, but it just takes more time and fiddling .The Escort RST came with Goodridge items. They were one part of the car that did not fail! |
