Been looking at power flex bushes but can anyone recomend any others or know he best place to get them?

IMHO either Genuine Porsche or SuperFlex.

A good upgrade on any 944 S2 are the 968 castor mounts, which are actually under a Porsche Technical Service Bulletin for those who have gone to 17" wheels. You can get these from Hartech as well as other specialists, but I'd check OPC's price first. I *think* the quality of the Porsche stuff may be better though. I know that mine were beginning to perish but still be intact on my 951 and they can't have been more than 6 years old then, which some may see as acceptable for the price mind you .

My S2 became far more predictable with the new castor mounts (they are basically front wishbone rear bushes, but they also serve as an adjustment for the castor.

The one thing I would recommend is new nylocs of the appropriate treatment and grade for the mounts (e.g; Zinc or galvanised).

The only place I'd poly on a 944 would be the front ARB bushes. If they see oil from the PAS or more likely an oil change (the oil filter is in a frankly stupid location!) they won't swell unlike the rubber items.

I have used these Flow-Flex on my 944S ARB and they seem as good as the Powerflex bushes I have all over my 996, they are a damn site cheaper too. I will be fitting more Flow-Flex bushes on the S as time goes on.

+1 on the flow flex I have fitted front bush kit a while back now, no problems with them at all.

My ARB bushes were perished on the drivers side (R/H) - engine oil and possibly PS fluid. I replaced the whole lot with OPC rubber bushes. Poly bushes put a strain on associated parts as they have no flexibility. Great for track tho'...

Thanks for the replays it looks like flo flex Arb kit & 968 caster mounts, and I suppose all that left is the front wishbone bush.

On my last car I used Flo-Flex and it was crap in all honesty! The rear arms had play and it was a known issue (Escort RS Turbo) where neither SuperFlex/Pro, PowerFlex or Ford (now NLA) didn't have the same problems. That and in the E46 M3 circles one man managed to destroy his bushes within a year, including it sometimes popping off his ARB :/:



Poly shouldn't mean you get a firm ride. One of the best riding cars I have been in is a Triumph 2.5Pi Saloon with SuperFlex bushes throughout with lowering springs and adjustable dampers (KYB). Same on an MGB I had years ago. Everyone told me poly bushes on a 'B = horrific. With the SuperFlex items they couldn't have been further away from the truth. I was surprised!

IME you get what you pay for with suspension. Anything from something being knackered will be an improvement.
