Evening chaps and chappess's,
Over the winter months I'm planning on getting the engine bay cleaned and spruced. What, in your opinions are the best products to use? There is a plethora of products out there so its hard to choose just one. I want to do everything from the aluminium through to the rubbers and plastics.
where feasible I will be replacing all screws nuts and bolts along the way and giving everything a nice coat of acf 50.

Spraying the headlamp drive link is worth doing. The heater pipe also, but worth removing to do properly (and to check for rust corrosion at the inner end). Steam clean engine (or power clean) with a grease solvent, with a plastic bag over the diz cap. Replace all the water hose clips where possible, polish with household dust aerosol. Don't use the motor factor PTFE shiny stuff...

Thanks A.N. - I've had a few concourse 'gongs' over the years with mine...

You may also have that original silverery cam cover? Worth doing as well and quite straight forward. Just unbolt it, strip with paint remover, then spray paint with a decent UHT/bake spray - colour of your choice. I used a USA product, 'crinkle black' finish, but you need your wife's/girlfriend's/mother's oven to bake in the crinkles!

Send pics when progress made!
