I'm looking to tidy up the front end of my 88 944, I'm just finishing the sill work, and also have a lot of the electrics disconnected, which I hope explains why this isn't a 'stupid' post.

I'd like to delete the lights under the bumper, the ones set into the valance, by fitting a plain valance with no cut outs.

But I'd like to know what all the front lights are, headlamps and indicators are obvious.

My side lights have small 5w bulbs, but, the unit also has a large 50 or so watt bulb in it, below the bumper are the two fog lights I'd like to delete, can anyone tell me what the large bulbs in the side light are for? I only have one fog light switch for the front, should these be connected to that switch and there be no lights in the valance, maybe someone has added the valance lights????

As I say half the electrics are disconnected so its not a simple case of switching and trying...

If it's the Lux you mention in your sig then I'd guess the 50W bulbs will be spotlights that come on with the main beam. I know that the S2/Turbo has spotlights in the bumper and think that the lighting arrangement is the same in the Lux's (although the layout is different.)

The bumper lights should come on with full beam. They're also used when flashing the lights with the headlights off.
