Post subject:  MOT failure rear wheel bearing

Hi all

My car has failed the mot on o/s rear wheel bearing.

It was a job that I was getting all the items together to do.

I was going to refurb both drive shafts do the gearbox drive shaft seals/ new cv joints.

The car is needed for the weekend so I have been quoted £202 for the one wheel bearing to be changed, this includes the cost of the Mot and a replacement bearing.

I have the bearing kit along with two cv joint kits and gearbox seals.

My question is do you think it would be okay to ask the garage to replace the whole lot on the affected side for now?

I can't see why it wouldn't be. And that doesn't look like an unreasonable price for the work. Are they a 944 specialist (as in, do they know what is involved in the job)?

Oli.

They are a good independent garage, one of the lads has a 924s, I do trust them as they have helped me with jobs where I have struggled with seized items etc.
