I think the head gasket has gone/going on my 8v lux. It has suddenly started using water (never previously need topping up). Can't see any external leaks. Does the cylinder head lift off easily or do they corrode to the head studs ? Thanks

No, you shouldn't encounter any problems, it's (relatively) straight forwards and logical. its a good idea to get the head refurbished before you put it back on. The haynes manual and clarks garage should cover all the bases.

I would suggest finding any symptoms of a head gasket leak before you lift the head.
