after pulling out a load of bits to fix the heater last week I decided to have a look on ebay for a better dashboard. I have been looking on and off for a while but not found a good one. Complete fluke but found a crack free black upper/ biege lower in pretty much perfect condition in Barnsley so bought it. So today decided to pull the old one out and do some tidying up before fitting the replacement. Read up Clarks Garage guide first and within 2 hours was ready to pull the old one out.
But - its stuck! seems to be attached at the base of the screen near the screen vents. Go and re-read Clarks guide to see what I have missed. Seemingly nothing, all the screws are out, wires disconnected etc but its still stuck on something. More jiggling and pulling and out it pops.
It turns out you need to close the flap for the screen demister (top heater slider control over to the left) as it sticks up when open into the dashboard moulding - bu**er.
The flap is fortunately metal, it was a bit bent but easily straightened so no harm done.
