For a while I've thought the car smelt a bit of fumes so ordered a new gearstick seal gasket from Porsche, total with clip came to £16. I'd not got round to fitting it but after the drive back from the OhSoRetro show today I was feeling quite ill from the drive so decided to bite the bullet and fit it this evening.
The difference between the two parts was amazing, the old one was split around the top and completely down one side so was making no seal underneath the gearstick at all. Very easy job to swap out, just a bit fiddly to get the seal over the metal lip but very secure once done.
Hopefully on the drive in to work tomorrow it will make all the difference but if your car has the aroma of fumes it might be the same issue
