Can anyone give me an authoritative answer as to whether a 15” Teledial (7Jx15 ET 52.3) will fit onto a 944 S2. Yes, I know it will look daft... but I want to carry a full size wheel as a spare and I have a Teledial available. It will look considerably less daft than the space saver...

(as to why I don't “try it myself”, the wheel is stored several miles from home and getting to it is “inconvenient”).

Yes. the 23mm offset wheel (951 part #) will fit, but the 52mm part (944 part #) wont. They were designed to clear Turbo brakes, and will fit on the outer limit of acceptable.

As an aside, I don't understand why Porsche made such a large volume area for the spare tyre? They could have made the fuel tank smaller (standard 80ltrs) and had the spare laid flat, making the rear deck also level...

Thank you for the response. Regrettably the wheels I have available are from an '89 944 2.7l and therefore won't serve.

This suggests they may fit the rear......My 89 944 has a different offset to the earlier 944 for instance that appears to match the rear of an S2....
